ChatPen lets you chat with third-party AI models. To generate AI responses, some data must be sent to the AI provider you choose.

This policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, who it is shared with, and how you control that sharing.

2. Data We Collect

• Messages and prompts you type, including conversation context needed to answer your request
• Model and provider selection (for example, GPT or Gemini)
• App preferences and settings saved on your device
• Subscription status provided by Apple App Store

We do not collect your payment card details. Apple handles billing and payment information.

3. How We Collect Data

• Directly from what you type and select in the app
• From Apple for purchase and subscription status

4. How We Use Your Data

• To send your request to your selected AI provider and return a response
• To save chat history and settings locally on your device
• To manage feature access based on subscription status

5. Third-Party AI Providers and Data Sharing

ChatPen shares data with third-party AI providers only to generate responses you request.

• Current providers may include OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, Meta, DeepSeek, Alibaba (Qwen), and Moonshot (Kimi), depending on the model you choose.
• Data sent may include your prompt, relevant conversation context, selected model details, and technical request metadata required to deliver the response.
• Each provider processes data under its own privacy terms and security practices.
• ChatPen only integrates providers that represent they apply data protection and security standards that are comparable to industry practices for AI services.

6. Your Choice to Use AI Features

ChatPen sends data to third-party AI providers only when you choose to submit a prompt and request an AI response.

• By using AI chat features and sending a message, you instruct ChatPen to transmit that request to your selected provider
• If you do not want data shared with AI providers, do not submit prompts through AI chat features
• You can delete your local chat history on your device at any time

7. Data Storage and Retention

Chat history and settings are stored locally on your device unless you delete them. AI providers may retain submitted data according to their own policies.

8. Payments and Subscriptions

Payments and subscriptions are processed by Apple App Store. ChatPen does not process or store payment card information.

9. Children's Privacy

ChatPen is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated date at the top shows when changes were made.
